Mike’s Second Pfaff 1222

This is Mike’s second Pfaff 1222 that he sent me for refurbishing. At first glance the machine appeared to be ok, however as I went through the machine I found that the hook assembly was rusted and the stitch finger was damaged. Rust can happen if you store the machine in an area where the humidity is higher then 20% and this can happen to any sewing machine. To prevent this from happening you should oil the machine before storing it away for long periods. Use Q-tips and sewing machine oil, put a couple of drops on a Q-tip and wipe the inside of the hook basket, wipe the outside as well, do the same to your bobbin case. Take a paper towel put some sewing machine oil on it and wipe the needle bar and presser foot bar as well as the needle threader bar. This should help prevent rust build up on these parts. If you live in a damp climate area, try using those humidity dry bags that they sell in hardware stores for basements. Do not let the bag or contents come in contact with the machine. Have plenty of air circulation around the machine do not use plastic bags to cover it as they will trap moisture in the machine. If you run into problem just email me through youtube. Thank you, Kenn.
