Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of Hull Activities

  • Posted on August 30, 2011 at 11:02 pm

Last Saturday the Friends of Hull Scouting held a car wash to raise money to buy supplies, including tents and sleeping bags. These items should come in handy for an upcoming camping trip the Hull Boy Scouts are planning for George’s Island. After graduating five Eagle Scouts over the last two years, there are currently just a few members of Boy Scouts Troop 20 in town, but their scoutmaster said they’re trying to build the membership back up. All scouts, including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies use the scout building on the corner of the Kenberma Playground, which was revamped a few years ago. If you missed the car wash, then mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 4, when the Friends of Hull Scouting will hold a Lobster Bake at the Hull Yacht club with the faire being catered by Jake’s Seafood. Tickets are $45. To learn more about the fundraising efforts and the scouting programs in Hull, visit their Web site at www.hullfohs.com. — Cathleen Jeffrey
