Mandy Straussberg is having a slumber party. Liz and Sarah arrive at Mandy’s house just as her brother David is leaving to stay over at Alex’s house. The first order of business, after arguing about sleeping bags, is to order the pizza. As they are eating the pizza, Mandy discovers it may be a long night as she is breaking up the constant tiff between Liz and Sarah. Entry from: Stockholm, Sweden Entry Title: “Adventures with Tom & Ella” Entry: “Somehow, Tom, Ella and I manage to haul ourselves out of bed at some ridiculous time (well 6am isn’t really that early) on Saturday morning to take a train to Stockholm. Foolishly I had misread the bus timetable which meant that we had to walk to the station, with Tom and Ella carrying their big duffel bags. We made very good time and caught the train without any mishap. Before leaving my apartment, Ella and I made a loaf of faux Nutella sandwiches and packed pears for the trip. The sandwich loaf didn’t last all that long, I think we reached the outskirts of Lund (which is by no means a big town) before it was gone. Then Tom and Ella went straight back to sleep. Tom lolled with his mouth open and snored like a train… well actually more like an industrial bulldozer since the train we were on was whisper quiet. The pretty Swedish girl sitting across the row just kept staring at him. Oh I wish I’d take a photo… or video… (sorry Tom!!) Anyway, the train was exceedingly comfortable, quiet and efficient. There was plenty of room around our seats and the seat base slid forward to recline (rather than leaning back into someone else’s personal space. The countryside we passed was just so beautiful.
