A IS FOR ALLY

Design is simply complex Pop up Studio and Shop at The Wapping Project During September and to coincide with The London Design Festival, Ally has been invited back to her old stamping ground in Wapping to take part in a new exhibition celebrating how “Design is simply complex”. For the show at The Wapping Project, Ally has collaborated with celebrated stylist and salvage wizard Rupert Blanchard, and filmmaker, Mike Chan. The installation takes a playful journey through the complexities of a typical Ally Capellino design. A simple wallet begins with initial ideas and is followed through the process to final product. Visitors can commission a personalised one off of the very piece that they have seen being made. The Autumn Winter Collection is displayed in full and regular visits from the design team show more of the processes at work. The Pop Up Shop has a selection of Allys most popular styles to buy. A talk given by Ally on the 24th Sept is followed by a question and answer session Hopefully you can visit Wapping and while you are there indulge in a delicious meal in the handsome and unusual surroundings of the refurbished Hydraulic Power Station that is, The Wapping Project.
