Entry from: Ankara, Turkey Entry Title: “Arrived in Ankara” Entry: “Travel Blog Saturday 4th May to Tuesday 8th May It is hard to believe we have been on the road now for 4 weeks. In some respects it feels like yesterday that we started and in others it feels like we have been doing this forever. It is strange how quickly we have adapted to some parts of the trip – ie sleeping in the tent in sleeping bags and other parts that are still difficult such as the 5.30 starts! We are both surprised at how easily we have managed to slip into this lifestyle, but we suspect that is because we don’t really have time to think about things, we just react to what is happening around us. The food has improved from the early days where we were notable to readily get supplies, however we were having vegetarian meals that did not contain any protein for a while but this has been remedied and when we have veggie meals they now have lentils or beans in them. Most people would still prefer to have meat but we are coping better and now try to supplement our diet at lunchtime with meat when we can – very easy in Turkey with kebabs etc. It may be more difficult in India where the meat quality is suspect but we can see how we go with that as the time comes.
