Entry from: Batu Ferringhi, Malaysia Entry Title: “Malaysia truly Asiaaaaaaaaa” Entry: “Hey everyone, We arrived in Malaysia a week ago, on an uber luxurious coach from Singapore – air con, only three seats across so each one was ginormous, reclined to practically horizontal…why can’t all coaches be like this?! Anyway, we got to Kuala Lumpur at 11.30pm and headed for Reggae Guesthouse which we had been recommended. Sadly it was all booked up and we had to head across the road to a scummy place called Wheeler’s. Looking back it wasn’t THAT bad, but given that we had been staying in luxury apartments and seafront houses for the last couple of weeks, it was a bit of a shock. The room was 30rm (about 6 quid) and was literally just a dirty cell with bunk beds and a rickety old desk fan. The shower was also a bit of a shock – over the toilet! I’ve now come to realise that most places here have the shower in the same little cubicle as the toilet, but this one was such a tiny room that you had to rest all your shampoo/shower gel etc on the toilet seat. Of course this meant that the toilet seat was always soaking and you have to spend 5 mins mopping it down every time you need the loo! Needless to say, we checked out the next morning and headed to a better (but still a bit dingy) hostel called …
