  • Posted on August 15, 2011 at 3:31 am

A special thanks to WVBT Fox43 who allowed us to showcase our Red Carpet Celebrity and Designer Handbags on The Hampton Roads Show. The We Promise Foundation is proud to announce The Red Carpet Celebrity Handbag Auction in partnership with eBay’s GivingWorks. This event offers an exclusive collection of one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories donated by celebrities, supporters, and the finest design houses. There are a wide variety of handbags so it won’t be hard to find one that fits every style. The best part of all is that all proceeds for each handbag goes towards providing incredible moments of happiness to courageous children and putting smiles on children’s faces by making their dreams come true.

It’s in the Bag! Vancouver’s Purse Auction Event!

It’s in the Bag: Women helping Women is a fun fundraising event taking place Friday, May 27, 2011 from 6:30-10:30 at the Yalehouse Roundhouse Centre. The event, which will be hosted by Valerie Casselton, the Executive Editor of the Vancouver Sun, brings together professional women from all walks of life to have a great time with their girlfriends! The event features a silent auction of handbags (designer purses, artistic purses, purses donated by local or international celebrities), great food, exciting entertainment and an opportunity to raise money for women’s groups in Vancouver (including The Antigone Foundation, WISH Drop In Centre, Soroptimist International of Vancouver, and AWARE)! It’s guilt-free pleasure! However, the event is not just about the pretty purses, and female pleasures but also what those purses represent. Today, professional women have increased earning power, spending power and giving power; women make an impact in the corporate world, in the world of medicine, and in the political world, among many other spheres! However, women are still widely under-represented in leadership fields and in Canada still make up the largest percentage of the poor. It’s in the Bag: Women Helping Women is an opportunity for women who have achieved success, to help those who are still struggling to make it!

OAK BAY – A young Victoria couple is launching an auction website to help you get designer bags and jewelry at deep discounts. Unlike other websites where only the highest bid pays, on this local site, everyone who plays pays. The e-company is the brainchild of the child of a very successful Victoria business leader Experts suggest it’s more like a lottery than a shopping site and the real winners are the pair who own it. follow Meribeth Burton on Twitter: www.twitter.com
