Backstage at Weimar NY

The Weimar period, if you don’t know, was the twenties-era German cultural flowering that coincided with the rise of Hitler (let us emphasize, it was coincidence!). Last night’s Weimar NY: The Spiegel Sessions, at Spiegeltent, loosely celebrated that slice of history with song, dark irony courtesy of MC Justin Bond of Kiki & Herb, Penny Arcade, and jokes involving duffel bags tossing out plush sticks of TNT. Nymag.com’s Tim Murphy and Sarah Lohman were there.
