Entry from: Marrakech, Morocco Entry Title: “Shawl haggling and taxi bargaining in the Red city” Entry: “Getting up early has its rewards. As the 6.30 am Marrakech express rolled out of the train station, we watched the city disappear while the sun rose over the city. It was spectacular. Buildings became smaller and smaller and the landscape started to change to more lush and green outside the window. Lots of little villages in the middle of seemingly nowhere, laundry hanging outside drying in the sun, farmers and lots of sheep is passing outside our window. After 8+ hour ride we finally arrived in Marrakech, the Red city. It all starts a bit intense as a cab driver gets so upset for us not accepting his price that he spits me in the face. But nothing will come inbetween me and my cab ride (at the right price of course), so with our excellent bargaining skills, we managed to get to our final destination for a fifth of what Mr Spitball wanted. Snakesharmers, story tellers, musicians, sandal vendors, orange juice squeezers, nut vendors and henna painters. Yeah, that and MORE is what you will find at the famous Djemaa el Fna.
