Heineken Balaton Sound (also just Balaton Sound) is a major greenfield music festival held annually since 2007 on the southern bank of the Lake Balaton, Hungary. It is one of the largest music festivals featuring live acts and DJs from Hungary and throughout Europe. The festival was conceived to support and focus mostly on electronic music but to avoid being repetitive or dull, each year organizers invite performers of other music genres, such as Jazz, New Wave, Pop rock, Neo soul, Dub, etc. The event was co-created by the organizers of Sziget Festival with cooperation of several minor production companies. As the festival gets more famous and popular each year, tickets are usually sold out by the end of March at the official ticket vendors; this event sets new attendance records yearly. The first Balaton Sound festival was held between 12 and 15 July, 2007. The fact that the event was held on the shore of the largest lake of Central Europe in mid-summer, twenty-hour music programs and the line-up gave it a significant public interest and since the first occasion these features make the festival special. The festival is located on the West part of Zamárdi at the crossing of Panoráma and Zöldfa utca (street). The official website of the festival gives exact information about getting to the location. Inside the festival area variable stages, lounges, and tents are established for the performances. The sponsors of the festival create luxurious chill-out facilities with
