I quickly shuffled my way through my room and packed everything into the suitcases the staff gave me. I couldn’t believe i was going home. This was a dream come true. My heart raced rapidly as i thought of my sister Rylee, just waiting to give me one of her famous hugs that could make anybody’s day. My heels clicked down the hallway as i rolled my suitcases to the front entrance of the Rehab Center, two guards leading me there. There was a lady who looked about 50, sitting at a desk tapping her fingers against the keys of a computer keyboard. I cleared my throat. “My name is Annie Tate. Im being let out today. Who’s picking me up, where do i wait, and what time will they be here?” I smiled politely. “Your ride should be here soon, you wait over there where it says “Waiting Area”, and I don’t know who is picking you up. You’ll have to consult your doctor for that information.” She said non-chalantly. Lady needs a hug. I walked to a chair. I played with the frays on the end of my blue-jean-cut-off shorts and hummed to myself. My doctor strolled into the lobby. I fast-walked over to my doctor and tapped her on the shoulder. “Dr. Royce?” She turned around with an eyebrow raised, then her face lit up when she saw it was me and she threw her arms around me. “Oh, Annie! How excited are you?” she untangled herself from me. My cheeks turned red as I smiled brightly. “As excited can get!” I laughed, hearing my laugh made my laugh even more. I hadnt laughed in a while.
