Dyson Constant Max

The Constant Max was Dyson’s attempt at the light commercial market. Think about it; it makes sense. Where other uprights are used in commercial situations, the cleaning staff either neglect to change paper bags until they burst, or they use shake-out cloth bags, which clog, and remain clogged when they’re emptied. The Constant Max demonstrates clearly when it’s full, and it’s easy to empty and replace the canister. Dyson’s solution isn’t ideal – the DC04′s build-quality was not nearly as good as that of the later machines – but it did come up with some intelligent solutions to traditional problems. Aside from the constant suction, it has a lawnmower-style 2-piece cord, so that it can be easily replaced if damaged. And it has an air-pressure activated ‘filter wash overdue’ indicator. The motor is rated at 1000w, lower than the domestic version, making it quieter and longer lasting. The hose system is still flawed, as with the DC01; it’s not reversible, so if you want to use the handle as the wand, you have the bulky hand-grip to deal with at the suction-end, and nothing to grip but the hose-cuff at the user-end. You can take the handle off, though, and connect the tools straight to the hose cuff. It lacks the clutch control, and has the round brush-roll. The Constant Max is a great idea, but it’s let down by the poor build quality and the flawed hose. With a little improvement, it could still be a viable machine.

How to empty your dyson vacuum bin! I heard it could be messy, but I use 2 plastic bags from the grocery store as trash bags. The Dyson picks up a lot!
