Message from Modbury

Residents from the town of Modbury — the first place in Britain to outlaw plastic bags — urge Los Angeles to do the same. Why? Plastic bags are a major source of marine debris, annually killing more than 1 million seabirds, 100000 marine mammals and countless fish through ingestion or entanglement. In addition, plastic litters our beaches creating an ugly scene which costs cities considerable funds to clean up. The Impact of Plastic Bags – from ‘Message in the Waves’
